Altered 1940's Vintage Wagon with Poem "We Do Not Walk Alone"
Author: Lisa Grant
$595.00
This poem was written after the Memorial Day Flood 1981 in Austin, Texas. I along with many in Austin that night fought for my life in the flood. I was washed out of my home by a 24 foot wall of water. Thirteen neighbors died that night. I survived and it was from this experience that I found the power of writing as a way to help me understand that life is so precious and so very uncertain.

Collage on Wood with Poem "Final Journey"
Author: Lisa Grant

Vintage sewing zippers and found objects. This poem was inspired by my Grandmother. After going thru the depression, she never let anything go. These were found in a shoe box on a shelf. Over 150 in all each individually wrapped in tissue paper. It will thrill her to no end that they have been found and incorporated into a piece of work.

Abstract cross. Materials: Vintage player piano sheet music, found objects.
This is the first in a series of installation pieces. This piece was inspired after finding this tricycle buried in a pasture owned by my Uncle, Sunny Moore in Salado, Texas. Altered Vintage Door - "My First Band"
$995.00
This is the first in a series of installation pieces. Vintage player piano sheet music, musical instruments and found objects.
This piece was inspired by musical instruments a young child would have had. I found these instruments at a local resale shop here in Austin, Texas. They were donated in a box that was very worn but inside each piece had been carefully wrapped like all of our Mother's have done in the past holding onto maybe what we might think insignificant items. To a parent, they are precious memories of our childhood.

Altered Vintage Luggage with Inspirational Words
$325.00
I have always been amazed at the construction of these old pieces of luggage. Very popular in the forties and fifties. They never wore out. Our parents carried them off to college and our Grandparents purchased one set that lasted their whole lifetime. They were then handed down or found at thrift stores throughout. I like the energy they represent. Imagining the travels they have seen. To re-purpose into a piece of art acknowledges the time in history and pays respect to the individual whom travels are no longer.
Measures: 26x15x8
Altered Vintage School Desk with Poem - I Give You My Heart
$595.00
For some of us this brings back memories. The fact that someone hung onto this piece and it eventually found itself at a thrift store again brings to light the energy it has. To re-purpose the desk into an installation piece of art represents a cherished time in all of our lives. To us that desk we were assigned to in the first grade was our desk. The concept of the following year it belonging to someone new never crossed our minds. The desk is red in color. I have incorporated handmade papers and found children's wooden blocks as the pieces to frame the poem "I give you my heart".
Measures: 29x24x31
Altered Vintage Trunk with Cross
$395.00
My cross series was the very first work I ever designed. It has been over twenty-five years now and the cross is still very prominent in my work. I really do not consider myself very religious, more spiritual. I do believe in God and I have always felt great comfort in the symbols that acknowledge and show respect for his blessings. Again I am coming from a creative mind. Traditional they are not. Created with great respect in what they symbolize, yes. This particular piece has been created from a vintage trunk. The outline of the cross is constructed from individual collage pieces from vintage quilting patterns and sheet music. Incorporating repurposed and found objects.
Measures: 28x16x12
Altered Vintage Window with Poem "I Am In Love"

This is an example of how I re-purpose vintage pieces as my canvas to create my work. This piece is an old sash window. Glass is still intact. The years of paint define the owners care. I have collage handmade paper and found objects to frame the poem "I am in love".

We do not walk alone - 2009 Series
I do believe we all have Guardian Angels that watch over us. Believing is to simply ask for their guidance. Each Angel is one of a kind. What is so special for me is the face of my Angels. I have pulled a mold from a vintage set of Bookends belonging to my Grandmother. As a child I was always tempted to pull these from the shelf to get a better look. It took 43 years for that to happen. These were one of her cherished items and no one was allowed to touch.
