Materials: Handmade papers, found objects.
For some of us this brings back memories. The fact that someone hung onto this piece and it eventually found itself at a thrift store again brings to light the energy it has. To re-purpose the desk into an installation piece of art represents a cherished time in all of our lives. To us that desk we were assigned to in the first grade was our desk. The concept of the following year it belonging to someone new never crossed our minds. The desk is red in color. I have incorporated handmade papers and found children's wooden blocks as the pieces to frame the poem "I give you my heart".
